Everything has gone terribly wrong. I left my home in Ottawa not three hours ago after a week's careful preparation: I packed copious amounts of food (at least, much more needed than an hour or two journey), casual camping supplies, all of my notebooks and sketchbooks, and weather-resistant clothing. But nothing could have prepared me for what is happening now.
I am writing this in the chance that I do not make it either back home or to my destination. For the record, I am Evan Kingston, a thirty-two year old cultural studier, who has traveled westwards of Ottawa to live with and study the Ojibwe people.&nb
